This year marks something of a milestone for us: our first National Tourism Week as Loon in the Mist Creative, and we're marking it by turning our attention to the region we're proud to work in.
From April 20 to 24, we're using our social media channels to shine a light on the places, experiences, and people that make Peterborough, the Kawarthas, and Northumberland County worth visiting. Each day of the week aligns with a theme from Tourism Week's national campaign, interpreted through a local lens and paired with original graphics that capture what makes this region so visually rich.
We spend a lot of our working hours helping tourism operators tell their stories through design. National Tourism Week felt like the right moment to turn that energy outward and do a little storytelling of our own, not on behalf of a client, but for the region we call home.
If you follow us on Instagram, you'll see a new post each day this week. We'd love for local businesses, DMOs, and fellow tourism supporters to share along. The more voices that join in, the louder the message that this region has a lot to offer.
National Tourism Week is organized by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) and celebrated coast to coast each April. It's a reminder of how much the tourism sector contributes to local economies, and how much it depends on the people and communities that welcome visitors every year.
This is just the beginning for us. We're glad to be part of that story.
